Dallas Arboretum Romantic Bridal Session

It began with a text.

” I want to come see you. I want to create together.”

A brief lull in between busy seasons allowed Kelly, of Petals by the Shore, and I to come together to create. For concept and design, it was simple. Incorporate the 2019 Pantone color of the year, living coral, as the primary thread of color. Weave French inspired romanticism, an organic gown by Watters to create movement, and capture what it feels like when a woman owns the beauty of her own skin.

We wanted to show brides what is possible outside of traditional bridal session boundaries. Post shoot, I wanted photographs to spill all over my floor, reminding me of old world romanticism. French women own their beauty in such a powerfully feminine way. I wanted to infuse that into each movement, look and gesture. Cayla more than delivered. And I now have a collection of images that not only achieved these goals – but transformed the way I will photograph Brides going forward.

Here’s a small sampling of our day. This incredible session is about to be featured on The White Wren. I’m incredibly proud of this collaborative effort, honored at the feature, and forever grateful for the permission we gave ourselves to create. Simply because, as artists, we must.

With deep gratitude,

Kate
