Today is my birthday.  I’m reflecting on another year, but more, all the people that God’s brought into my life this past year.  Like The Crouch family.  I first got to know their beautiful family last Fall, when I met Katherine to photograph her Bridals at Lost Mission in San Antonio (part 1 of her Bridals is here, part 2 is here), and instantly fell in love with these people.  The first moment I met them, I felt like I’d always known them.  Katherine reached for me and with a solid grasp, embraced me.  Her mother, Jacqueline, did the same.  And instantly they won over my heart.

Along Katherine and Brandon’s wedding journey, I met Elizabeth.  Another equally stunning Crouch daughter, who was getting married in May.  She was every bit as warm, beautiful and inviting.  Her tall, poised frame, carries a royal elegance that was memorizing to photograph.  These images were photographed in March, when I traveled to San Antonio again, this time to photograph her at The St. Anthony Hotel.  Elizabeth was so amazing, we actually shot 3 sessions the same day: her Bridals, Boudoir and a fun poolside shoot that I’ll blog later.  She is so relaxed and fun in front of the camera, that she recently modeled for me at The Milestone Mansion for a styled shoot.  But more on that later. 😉

Today… it’s all about Elizabeth.
Her dress.
Her day.
… and it was perfect.

Here, I asked her to take a moment to reflect.
Look at her ring.
Think about Kevin.
I waited quietly for a minute.
Then I asked her to tell me what it meant to her to marry Kevin.
No words, just happy tears.

The rooftop has beautiful views and a fantastic deck space for dancing… especially in your wedding dress.
Shoes, optional.

Elizabeth, you are a delight, joy, and beautiful soul.
I’m so grateful that you chose me to tell this part of your love story.
The one that began with you dressed in white.
Now, you and Kevin have forever to take more photographs and tell more stories.
Many more happy memories are yet to come.
Many blessings on the journey.
Thank you for inviting me to share it with you.

With Gratitude,

I’m still catching up on blogging (sadly, months behind).
But this unique wedding at the lovely Hidden Pines Chapel in Highland Village, TX, couldn’t get lost on my hard drive.
Last Fall, I got to experience and photograph my first Mexican themed wedding.  Laura and Robert spent months preparing every last detail.
They wanted bold color.  They wanted celebration and dancing.  They wanted a night to remember forever.

Thank you, Weston Brown, for this money shot!  <3

These people kept me moving… alllllll night!

Thank you, Laura & Robert, for a night I’ll never forget.

With gratitude,

You just never know what the weather will be like in Texas.
When I met Courtney and Cody for their session, it was a particularly cold (and windy) day.
The sky was overcast, but there is no denying:  these two brought the heat!

This Friday, they’ll be getting married at BRIK in Fort Worth, TX.
And since they’ll only be engaged for another minute, I’ve got to share their engagement photos with you!
It was hard to select just a few, I love how these two love each other!  <3

I can’t wait to see you as a bride, Courtney.  You will be a showstopper, to be certain!

With gratitude,

It’s been almost 5 months since their Fall Wedding at The NYLO in Las Colinas, TX.
But everything about this story is worth telling… even late.

The NYLO is unique.  Dark, contrasty, industrial.  Concrete walls and modern art.
This venue is one of a kind, much like Rachel and Rudy.

MUA, Lori Stoker works on Rachel’s perfect skin.

Rudy added two eternity bands to Rachel’s engagement band… which first belonged to her Mother.
I love when details have rich meaning.

These silver heels?  Only Michael Kors.

Rachel’s princess ballgown was from Alfred Angelo’s Disney collection.

The customized hanger was crafted by DatinkDesigns.

Ana Rodriquez, of Inspired By:, crafted the design, details and flowers.

Moments before going down the aisle.

First, tear-filled, look.

When Ps. Byron Copeland crashes your wedding portraits.  LOL!

What happens when you, and your Mom, both work in Children’s ministry.

This gorgeous image ended up giving me the title of one of Looks Like Film’s 2016 artists of the year
and is now the Spring ad campaign for NYLO hotels in Brides of North Texas.
I’m so honored and grateful for clients who trust me to tell the story of their day.

Brides to be, pick up a copy of the 2017 Spring/Summer Brides of North Texas.
It’s loaded with pretties and inspiration… and you’ll find me inside of the back cover.  😉

Katherine’s session deserved a part 2.  So, here’s the second half of her Bridal Session.  To view the first, click here.

What happens when Pickles the pygmy goat crashes your session.

The light, oh the light.

Katherine is so graceful.  She folded into each pose effortlessly.

If you know me, you know what this kind of light means.
If you work with me, you know we’re going to chase it. 🙂

Katherine, you were a story all by yourself.
Utterly, totally, perfect.
